Sometimes you can understand exactly why you feel the way you do and still find that your body has not gotten the message.
You may be bracing, overwhelmed, shutting down, pushing through, or feeling like your nervous system is always preparing for the next thing.
Your body is not a problem to be fixed. It may be offering information about stress, demand, sensory input, relationships, past experiences, and what your system has been carrying.
In these sessions, we bring curiosity and education to what you are noticing so you can develop more understanding, awareness, and choice in everyday life.
These sessions may be supportive for:
Adults carrying prolonged stress or overwhelm.
Mothers and caregivers holding a lot for other people.
People who feel constantly “on,” braced, disconnected, shut down, or close to capacity.
Neurodivergent or highly sensitive adults.
Parents supporting neurodivergent children or complex family needs.
People who understand their patterns intellectually but still feel that their body responds before they have time to think.
You do not have to arrive calm, prepared, or “put together.” You can begin exactly as you are.
We begin by checking in with what is happening in your life, your body, and your capacity that day.
Together, we identify what feels most relevant to explore—not because anything is wrong with you, but because we want to understand what is asking for attention.
Depending on the session, we may:
Explore body awareness and sensation.
Notice patterns of bracing, shutdown, overactivation, or disconnection.
Learn about nervous-system responses in clear, non-shaming language.
Use gentle somatic movement, Clinical Somatic Education, breath, orienting, or qigong.
Explore boundaries, capacity, connection, transitions, or everyday demands.
Consider sensory needs and ways of participating that fit you.
Identify practical supports that may fit into parenting, work, relationships, rest, and daily life.
Everything is adapted to your needs, preferences, sensory experience, and capacity that day.
You may leave with a clearer understanding, a question to keep noticing, a practice to explore, or simply the experience of having been met and listened to. There is no requirement to produce an outcome or complete homework between sessions.
You set the pace.
You can pause, move, change position, keep your eyes open, ask questions, decline an activity, or decide that something is not right for you.
There is no “right” way to participate.
Nothing is done to you.
This work is not about becoming someone else or becoming better at overriding yourself. It is about building a more informed relationship with your body and nervous system so you can have more choice in how you move through your life.
Sessions may draw from:
Nervous-system education.
Somatic movement.
Clinical Somatic Education.
Body awareness and sensory-motor exploration.
Breath and orienting.
Qigong.
Fascial awareness.
Trauma-informed pacing and choice.
Practical reflection.
My current Somatic Experiencing® training also informs my understanding of trauma-related nervous-system responses, pacing, awareness, and choice. I am currently completing Beginning Level training through Somatic Experiencing® International and do not present these sessions as Somatic Experiencing® sessions or as completed SE practitioner work.
